Biography

Jitti Muangkhonkaen, born Somjit Viangnon on October 9, 1956, began his Muay Thai journey at the age of 13 in Khon Kaen. By 18, he had established himself as a prominent fighter in Bangkok, gaining recognition for his technical skills and strategic fighting style. Between 1975 and 1981, Jitti was regarded as one of Thailand's top fighters, defeating numerous champions such as Nongkhai Sor.Prapatsorn and Sagat Porntawee.

One of Jitti's notable career highlights was participating in the first "two against one" bout in Bangkok's Muay Thai history, where he teamed up with Jocky Sitkanpai against Posai Sitiboonlert. Although they lost by decision, this match remains a significant part of Muay Thai lore. Jitti also faced international competition, defeating American kickboxer Earnest Hart Jr by TKO at Lumpinee Stadium in 1977.

At the peak of his career, Jitti's fight purses reached 100,000 baht, a testament to his status and skill in the sport. Despite his retirement in 1981, Jitti's legacy endures as a testament to his technical mastery and contributions to Muay Thai.
