Biography

Dokmaipa Por.Pongsawang, born Chamnien Moonkasorn, was a celebrated Muay Thai fighter from Roi Et, Thailand. He began his fighting career at the young age of 9 and quickly rose through the ranks, making his debut in major Bangkok stadiums by the age of 16. Known for his southpaw stance and devastating left kicks, he earned the nickname "The Powerful Southpaw."

Throughout his career, Dokmaipa achieved significant success, becoming a two-division Lumpinee Stadium champion. He won titles in the 112 lbs and 115 lbs divisions in 1987 and 1988, respectively, defeating notable fighters such as Burklerk Pinsinchai, Wisanupon Saksamut, and Wangchannoi Sor Palangchai. His prowess in the ring was further highlighted by his fierce battles against other top fighters of his era.

After retiring from professional fighting in 1996, Dokmaipa transitioned to a coaching role and worked as a bodyguard in Macau. He later returned to Thailand, where he served as a municipal employee in Kalasin. Tragically, Dokmaipa passed away in 2020 due to complications from a poisonous centipede bite, exacerbated by his diabetes.
