Biography

Nokweed Davy, born Wichit Somboon, began his journey in Muay Thai at the tender age of seven in Nakorn Si Thammarat, South Thailand. Overcoming the challenges of poverty, he rose to prominence in the 1980s and 1990s as one of the most formidable kickers in the sport. His prowess earned him the nickname "Lord of Spirits," reflecting both his fearsome presence in the ring and his warm-hearted nature outside of it.

Throughout his career, Nokweed achieved significant success, becoming a three-division Rajadamnern Stadium champion. He was renowned for taking on opponents much larger than himself, including a notable bout against the heavyweight K-1 legend Jérôme Le Banner. Despite the size disadvantage, Nokweed's skill and determination made him a respected figure in the Muay Thai community.

Nokweed's fighting style was characterized by his powerful kicks, earning him the moniker "Chest-Shaking Master of Kicks." He was also a dedicated trainer, sharing his knowledge and passion for Muay Thai with students at the Nongnapa camp in Phuket. Tragically, Nokweed passed away at the age of 51 while training, leaving behind a legacy of excellence and inspiration in the world of Muay Thai.
