Cherry Sor Wanich

Cherry Sor Wanich, born on June 30, 1969, in Khok Klang, Khon Kaen, Thailand, became a legendary Muay Thai fighter known for his Muay Khao style, which emphasized powerful knee strikes. His prowess in the ring earned him the nickname "Khun Khao Chalamdam," translating to "the black shark knee strike," a testament to his fearsome reputation.

Cherry's career peaked when he won the prestigious Lumpinee 130 lbs title on July 25, 1989, at an event organized by the famous promoter Songchai Ratanasuban. This victory solidified his status among the elite fighters of his era, contributing to the golden age of Muay Thai. Cherry was part of a legendary cohort of fighters in the 1990s, including Dokmaypa Por Pongsawang and Rajasak Sor Vorapin, who were celebrated for their skill and success in the ring.

Throughout his career, Cherry faced and defeated numerous top-tier opponents, including two renowned French champions, Jo Prestia and Joel Cesar, in a single evening. His ability to overcome international competitors further highlighted his exceptional talent and adaptability in the sport.
