He began training in Muay Thai at a young age under the guidance of Pramote Hoymook at the Nongkeepahuyuth gym. His dedication and skill quickly made him a standout fighter in the local circuits of Surin and Nakhon Ratchasima before he moved to Bangkok to compete at a higher level.

During his career, Namphon became a Muay Thai superstar from 1988 to 1991, known for his relentless forward-moving style and powerful knee strikes.
