Posai Sittiboonlert, born Prayong Makkong on February 12, 1956, in Taklee, Nakornsawan, Thailand, rose to prominence in the Muay Thai world during the 1970s. Known for his devastating knee strikes, he earned the nickname "Mr. Telegraph Pole Knee" and is celebrated as one of the greatest Muay Thai fighters in history. His fighting style, Muay Khao, emphasized powerful knee attacks, which became his signature in the ring.

Posai's career peaked in the mid to late 1970s, where he went undefeated in 1975 and secured significant victories over renowned fighters such as Poot Lorlek, Neth Saknarong, and Sagat Petchyindee. His exceptional performance in 1976 and 1977 earned him the King's Fighter of the Year award, a testament to his skill and dominance in the sport.
