Biography

Born Kasem Prapaisri on December 2, 1946, in Chachoengsao Province, Thailand, Sirimongkol Luksiripat became a legendary figure in Muay Thai during the late 1960s and early 1970s. Known for his southpaw stance, he was a formidable opponent in the ring, earning the nickname "Executioner from Paedriew" for his precise and powerful fighting style.

Sirimongkol's career was marked by significant victories over top fighters such as Vicharnnoi Porntawee, Kongdej Lukbangplasoi, and Toshio Fujiwara. His skill and tenacity in the ring led him to become a two-division Lumpinee Stadium champion, holding titles in both the featherweight and lightweight categories. His success in Muay Thai was complemented by his achievements in amateur boxing, where he won a gold medal at the 1973 Asian Championships in Bangkok.

Despite his retirement from active competition in 1975, Sirimongkol's legacy continued to influence the Muay Thai community. His career was celebrated for the high purses he commanded, reaching up to 100,000 baht, a testament to his popularity and skill. Sirimongkol passed away on August 18, 2018, from pulmonary oedema, leaving behind a lasting legacy in the world of Muay Thai.
